Wrexham Memorial Hall. 7.30pm Friday 27th May. TICKETS £9 & £7 (under 16s).
BOOK NOW
Bitesize Musical Singers have barely got their breath back from performing at the Pavilion in Llangollen, than it's all systems go for their annual "Evening of Song". This will take place at 7.30 pm on Friday May 27th at the Memorial Hall, Wrexham. The event will raise funds to support work done by the local Charity "Reactivate", for children with special needs.
The Concert will feature not only the Musical Theatre ensemble from Bitesize, who will reprise their highly praised Music For Youth performance amongst other items, but also members who were winning soloists at Wrexham and Oswestry Music Festivals and a number of youngsters who take singing lessons at Bitesize. Special guests will be the City of Chester Male Voice Choir, under their Conductor Rodney Jones, who came to judge the Bitesize in-house Music Festival last year. Director Linda Griffiths said " The Choir took part in a Concert with us a couple of years ago and were so impressed that they have asked if they could join us again this year."
Tickets are available from Bitesize on 01978-358320 and from Wrexham Tourist Information Office and cost £9 or £7 for under 16s. The BITESIZE office is
open from 5.00 until 8.00 Tuesday to Thursday. They can also be purchased on the door.

BITESIZE recently performed in the Classic FM "Music for Youth" Festival, along with many other local young singers and musicians. Their two groups who each performed a medley from "Les Miserables" were praised by the judges for their polished and professional performances. Director Linda Griffiths commented " I am really proud of the high standards achieved by our youngsters, especially as this comes on top of a successful full-scale musical production at the end of February." AND we have just heard that we have won through to the National Festival in Birmingham for the FOURTH time. The Musical Theatre Group will perform at the Adrian Boult Hall on Wednesday 6th July.
BITESIZE star is a show sensation
A huge "Well Done and Good Luck" to BITESIZE member Victoria Lewis (12) who is currently playing the lead role of Annie in the national tour alongside Su Pollard and David McAllister. VICTORIA has been winning rave reviews and has proved to be a real audience pleaser as she travels the country with the hit stage show. She started the tour in August and that went through until the end of 2010, following which Victoria had a well earned break, before resuming ANNIE duties in February. It is a tight schedule but she gets to see her proud parents Nigel and Michelle at weekends. Nigel commented, "Victoria really loves it and has received high praise from the critics coming to review the show. This is a great opportunity. She is looking forward to going back to school and seeing her friends. She's been attending Bitesize since she was five and it has played a big part in her success".

Megan Hollie Robertson and Charlotte Weaver were delighted to take part in a Musical Theatre Masterclass given by Gareth Valentine,
West End Musical Theatre Director at the Catrin Finch Centre on Sunday 17th April.
Double Success for BITESIZE
Young singers from Wrexham's BITESIZE have enjoyed considerable success in local Music Festivals recently. Their ensemble won the
Vocal Ensemble section in Oswestry Music Festival and Lauren Arnison won the under 15 Vocal Solo. Megan-Hollie Robertson won the
under 21 Solo and the Gilbert and Sullivan Solo classes. She teamed up with Cerys Brooke Jones to win the Vocal Solo Duet Class as
well. These two very talented youngsters went on to repeat their success by winning the same class at Wrexham Music Festival where
Megan also won the Senior Vocal Solo. These were in addition to a number of seconds, thirds and Highly Commendeds.
The BITESIZE Singers recently enjoyed a visit to the Mayor's Parlour in recognition of their hard work representing Wrexham at the Oswestry Music Festival. Our Mayor, Councillor Jim Kelly is a long-time supporter of Bitesize. Bitesize Young Singers also took part in the Limelife Show Choir Event at the International Pavilion in Llangollen as part of the run-up to the Eisteddfod. They sang along with other music groups from North Wales on Saturday 16th April in the Concert starting at 7 pm, in the presence of Gareth Valentine, renowned West End Musical Director.
AUDITIONS
Connor McNamara, Hannah Gallimore, Lauren Arnison and Liam Beardmore auditioned for Casting Director Kerry Mailey for a new BBC programme "The 4
o'clock Show" in Manchester recently. They had a great time and really enjoyed the experience . BITESIZE members Ross Arnison and Dylan Honey have
both been delighted to be called to audition for Billy Elliot in Manchester on April 2nd
BITESIZE played host to Inspectors from Edexcel this week as part of its commitment to provide Arts Training and Education for young
people in Wrexham County Borough and beyond. They were inspecting the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts which is running for the
second year at BITESIZE. The qualification can be studied by young people and adults in their spare time (evenings and weekends) and is
ideal as a supplement or top-up to GCSE or A Level studies. The Inspector commented, "Thank you for a welcome visit to Bitesize
Theatre. The team are clearly enthusiastic and want to make a difference to the lives of young people in the area. Well done and
thank you. Areas of good practice. A realistic working environment run by professional caring staff. A pleasure to visit a centre
keen to put something back into the local community." (To see more of the Report click on the picture)

"Our Ross" becomes "Her Benny"
9 year old Ross Arnison is the latest of Wrexham's BITESIZE youngsters to find success on the professional stage. He has
been taking classes in drama and musical theatre as well as the casting class, which prepares children for working in the
industry. Ross is delighted to have been cast as Benny in Anne Dalton's production of her musical version of the Liverpool story
of "Her Benny" at the Ellesmere Port Civic Theatre later in the year. Young Benny fights poverty, crime and injustice and, against
all odds, grows up to find self-respect, love and success. "The part of Benny is a challenging one", says Anne. "He is honest yet
streetwise, tough yet sensitive. The boy who plays him must be natural, confident, move well and have a good singing voice."
Sister Lauren Arnison aged 13 will be in the ensemble supporting the lead characters. The musical siblings are thrilled to have
such a wonderful opportunity.
Another recent success from BITESIZE was the casting of Eliza Harrison Dine, aged 8 in a short film promoting the newest Jacqueline Wilson book for children. Eliza was very excited to be in a film but said the best thing about the job was meeting the famous novelist.
