DAVE WILLETTS becomes BITESIZE Youth Theatre PATRON
After some of our kids performed with him in South Pacific at Rhyl last year, Dave has kindly agreed to become our Patron. Dave has been critically acclaimed as an actor and singer both Nationally and Internationally from Europe to Australia for numerous leading roles in some of the most renowned musicals of our time.

BTEC Performing Arts
From September we are offering the opportunity for children and adults to study BTEC Performing Arts with us at Bitesize.
For ages 13-16
A one-year course to achieve BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Performing Arts (Performance) equivalent to 360 guided learning hours and 4
GCSE's.
The course offers the opportunity for Bitesize Youth Theatre members to combine regular weekly classes in Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre
and Casting; with the Production of "Oklahoma!" and some additional classes, rehearsals and tutorials to achieve accreditation equivalent to 4
GCSE's.
For 16+
A two-year course to achieve a BTEC First Certificate in Performing Arts equivalent to 180 guided learning hours over the two years and 2
GCSE's.
The course offers the opportunity for Adults to combine our regular weekly class in Musical Theatre with helping with our annual Musical
Performances and some additional classes, rehearsals and tutorials to achieve accreditation equivalent to 2 GCSE's.

Ambitions Dance School comes to BITESIZE
As from September the Ambitions Dance Centre is moving from its current location in Marford/Gresford to be based at the
BITESIZE HQ in Rhosddu Wrexham.
Ambitions Dance School hold ISTD Dance EXAM classes in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre and Tap Dance catering
for a range of different age groups and abilities. All dance students have the opportunity to perform at one of their bi-annual
shows and also enter regular competitions and examinations. Classes will be held on Friday evenings and Saturdays
throughout the school year. Call Michelle on Wrexham (01978) 722492 for more details of their Dance classes.

We are running a Fun / Social Dance / Drama / Musical Theatre class for GROWNUPS and
hoping to put on a performance later this year. Wed 8-10. Turn up and join in (£8 incl. Tea/coffee)
AUDITIONS
Congratulations to all the girls who have been cast to play Orphans in the No.1. tour of ANNIE starring Su Pollard when it comes to Liverpool Empire in September and Llandudno in October. And to Dylan who played CHIP in "Beauty & the Beast" at Shrewsbury' 20th to 31st July and will be playing Michael in Shrewsbury's Severn Theatre's PETER PAN. To the 5 children who have been chosen by Theatr Clwyd for their production of FESTEN (22 Oct to 14 Nov 2009) and to Rachel who will be playing the Grandma in GEORGE'S MARVELLOUS MEDICINE at the Stiwt Theatre in November.
COMPETITIONS
NATIONAL SINGING COMPETITION with CASH PRIZES
Congratulations to Mary, Victoria, Megan and Fred who all got through to the semi-final of Can You Sing in Porthcawl. And to those involved in the three Group pieces " Matchmaker", "Pirates of Penzance" and "Seasons of Love" who also made the long trip down to South Wales on the 19th July...... because it was well worth it with Victoria getting through to the FINAL in the 9-11 age; Megan in the 12-14 age and two of our groups "Matchmaker" and "Seasons of Love" also going through.
The Final will be at the Riverfront Theatre, Newport (Gwent) on Sat September 26th 2009 attended by celebrities, agents and Managers & Press.

£1000 Prize Fund ! A winner will be selected to appear in the 'Chris Needs Show' at a Major Venue in Wales .
A Winner will be offered a Solo at the Remembrance Concert in the St.David's Hall Cardiff on Oct 31st 2009.
Winners will be offered representation by a London Agent .
WINNERS!!!! Our "Seasons of Love" group won their section of the competition.
THE CLASSES
The classes are all taught by professional actors, directors and teachers and like School Staff, all BITESIZE personnel and tutors are checked by the CRB under the Protection of Children Act.
One hour classes cost £5.00 , and two hour classes cost £8.00. (except where indicated)
